Set a Course for Adventure Out of Orange VA in a New Subaru Outback
From basecamp here in Orange, new trails to blaze spread out across northern Virginia. You'll need a wagon up to the charge to explore all the great outdoors has to offer.
Not just any crossover will do for that hike, either. You'll need an SUV with a proven history of dependability, durability, capability, and above all, one expertly equipped to take it on. Look no further than the new Subaru Outback.
Now that it's back for its latest model year, you'll see what Subaru means when they claim it's their most reliable, safety-committed, and readiest for the journey yet.
What's New?
- Subaru Outback is all-new, built on our brand's Global Platform, from its chassis to its body panels. The result's a drive more dynamic, yet quieter and more secure.
- Subaru upgraded its base SUBARU BOXER engine to a spirited 182 horsepower, driven by 176 pound-feet of torque -- plenty of pep for exploring parts unknown. There's also a new engine option for the performance crowd, a turbocharged 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER producing 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet.
- An advanced adaptive cruise control feature with lane-centering makes maintaining safe distances from other vehicles a lot easier, and with less steering, braking, and throttle input.
- The STARLINK Safety and Security suite, now updated, offers more in the way of remote service features.
- A tablet-sized STARLINK infotainment system, measuring a massive 11.6 inches, is now available, making managing entertainment and connectivity easier than ever.
Design
The design of the new Subaru Outback is more refined, with harder-wearing front cladding, thicker, more durable panel surfaces, wider fenders, and an elevated rear gate height. The result: a more dynamic silhouette, which comes to a head in a striking hexagon-shaped grille. Plus, all trims except the base feature standard corner LED fog lights to pierce through the thick of bad weather, and roof rails, built-in crossbars, and enhanced tie-downs come standard for a combination of utility and stylish looks.
Performance Features
Every new Subaru Outback is just as fuel-efficient as ever. Thanks to start-stop tech and a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, you can expect fuel economy up to 26 mpg in a city like Culpeper and 33 mpg on the highway to Charlottesville, according to the EPA. That's a stellar cruising range of more than 600 miles. Plus, you can tow anywhere from 2,700 to 3,500 pounds, properly equipped and depending on trim. That's ATV-, dirt bike-, and aluminum boat-hauling territory.
Safety Features and Driver Aids
Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, our automaker's exclusive permanent AWD system, comes standard in every Subaru Outback. Together with X-MODE, it provides excellent balance and optimizes traction while compensating for steering, an ideal situation for harsh terrain and bad weather. EyeSight Driver Assist Technology comes standard, simplifying staying in-lane, on track, and clear of collisions. There's even a DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System available to help you concentrate and options like a blind-spot detector, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse auto brakes, and more to enhance your situational awareness and deliver reliable stopping power.
Interior Features
The cabin in Subaru Outback has been completely redesigned, offering as many as 109 cubic feet of passenger space and up to 75.7 cubic feet for cargo, which you can access easily using an available hands-free power rear gate. Cloth seating comes standard, StarTex material is available for water-resistance, and, in higher trims, sumptuous Java Brown Nappa leather is an option. Factor in optionally heated and ventilated seats, an available heated steering wheel, and optional heated rear seating, and you can create the lap of luxury.
Technology Features
Subaru Outback is not only a home away from home for long treks but also their command center. 7-inch SUBARU STARLINK infotainment comes standard, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support enable smartphone connection. 4G LTE Wi-Fi is available to keep you on the Web off the beaten path, and am optional 576-watt, 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system can transform any road mix into a travelogue's soundtrack.
