The All-New 2019 Subaru Ascent is Here!

The mid-size Subaru SUV has only recently arrived here in Orange, VA, and it's already catching on as the capable, family-friendly crossover alternative to the mainstream. There are plenty of reasons why it's already besting the rest, too. Check out the new Ascent here at Reynolds Subaru, and we'll bet you'll find it's the right choice for you, too.

For one, a 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER engine, flat-four versus in-line by design and turbocharged for a confident feel, stands ready to shell out 260 horsepower at 277 pound-feet of torque. It's better able to take on both diverse terrain and inclement weather than either Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, or Honda Pilot, with more horsepower than Toyota's SUV and more torque than those of Ford and Honda.

Secondly, our automaker's proprietary proactive, versus "slip-then-grip," AWD system, the permanent and always-on Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, comes standard and with an X-MODE®. Together with laterally moving engine pistons that keep the SUV's center of gravity low, the system provides excellent balance, reliable oversteer and understeer compensation, and an orienteer's command of traction. All-wheel drive's not offered standard by many other automakers, not Toyota or Ford, not Honda or Nissan.

Furthermore, EyeSight®, Subaru driver-assist technology, comes standard across the board, helping to keep you on track, safely in your lane, at the proper distance from other traffic, and clear of collisions. Most other automakers offer many of their driver-assistance features as options and usually piecemeal -- not together in one easy-to-use suite.

2019 Ascent even offers superior towing capability compared to models like the new Pilot and Highlander -- up to 5,000 pounds when equipped properly. That's enough for the pair of ATVs, dirt bikes, or snowmobiles to define a northern Virginia adventure, not to mention the light towable camper or even second vehicle to make it an extended stay. Just pack it all up -- Ascent offers up to a whopping 86.5 cubic feet of cargo space, depending on trim, with raised roof rails in the mix -- and hit the road.

Of course, there's plenty about the successor to the celebrated Subaru Tribeca that stands alone -- and out.

  • It is, for instance, superbly accommodating, with three spacious rows, comfortable cloth and sumptuous leather seating options, heating and ventilation for seats up front, a heated second row, three-zone climate management with available second-row controls, and three-row air vents. Ascent is even upgradable with second-row captain's chairs.
  • These aren't to mention STARLINK multimedia infotainment options in 6.5- and 8.0-inch touch-screen format, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to let you connect a smartphone and access apps from the dash.
  • Plus, there's optional GPS navigation, Internet connectivity in the form of 4G LTE Wi-Fi support, front, second- and third-row USB ports for charging devices are available, and a 120-volt power outlet can make powering outboard camping equipment a snap.
  • You can even enjoy your favorite road mixes on the way in anthem quality thanks to an optional Harman Kardon QuantumLogic surround sound system pushing 792 watts through 14 speakers.

But there's more to earn the new 2019 Subaru Ascent a spot at the head of the SUV pack. Your test drive is just around the corner here on Madison Road -- stop by and see what it can do for you and your family's adventures today!
