The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Takes the Definition of "All-New" Off-Grid

One of our favorite Subaru compact SUVs speeds back into Orange for a new model year, ready to hit the off-road for natural getaways from Charlottesville and Culpeper to Fredericksburg, VA and beyond. But what makes 2018 Subaru Crosstrek live up to the "all" in its new badging? The answer – actually, there's plenty of them – is right around the corner here at Reynolds Subaru.

For one, the new Crosstrek comes built, like its Impreza sibling, on a new platform, boasting a high-strength steel construction with 70 percent increased rigidity and 40 percent crash energy absorption improvement. In tandem, you'll find the interior of 2018 Crosstrek freshly upgraded, with premium materials such as perforated leather trim flanked by an acoustic-dampening windshield.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive also comes fashionably standard to the party, just as it does across the new Subaru lineup. Factor in an updated 152-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine, horizontally laid out and built power-efficient, atop 8.7 inches of ground clearance and alongside newly available rugged 18-inch alloy wheels. The result is a quartet of ride smoothness, balance, quietude, and the high quality you've come to expect from a new Subaru SUV.

But stellar mechanics isn't all to which you can look forward. The new Subaru Crosstrek showcases upgraded driver-assistance features galore, among them, its EyeSight tech suite adding Lane Keep Assist for safe tracking with helpful feedback, and available LED Steering Responsive Headlights making it easy to peer around corners in low-visibility conditions. The new SUV also receives a bump in cargo space to up to a sprawling 51.9 cubic feet behind rear seating, assisted by a wider rear gate opening ideal for packing plenty of swag for the trip.

Plus, speaking of your next adventure, the SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia system in 2018 Crosstrek has been updated, too. It now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard for smartphone integration, alongside support for access to Pandora, iHeartRadio, Yelp, Magellan, and SiriusXM radio and the option, in an all-new 8-inch touchscreen variant, of voice-activated navigation powered by TomTom. These are in addition to a newly available eight-speaker, 432-watt-equivalent Harman Kardon premium audio system – excellent for adding a symphonic touch to your excursion.

Consider these alongside an impressive roster of standards like Vehicle Dynamics Control, a Traction Control System, and Active Torque Vectoring for handling prowess. Those like super fuel economy up to 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Travel-ready accommodations like raised roof rails, and 1,500 pounds of max towing support when properly equipped. We think you'll find it's easy to see why our customers already love the all-new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Take the short trip to see us here at Reynolds Subaru today, and we'll be delighted show you even more of why!
